Storyboard

Coming Soon

Storyboard is currently in development and will be available soon. This documentation is a preview. For AI-powered content creation available today, see the Flow Editor.

DUTO's Storyboard is an AI-powered video planning system that transforms your concepts into complete, production-ready shot plans.

What is Storyboard?

Storyboard combines AI intelligence with creative control to plan video content. Describe your vision, and DUTO's orchestrated AI pipeline creates:

  • Detailed scene and shot breakdowns
  • Consistent subjects across shots (1:1 reference analysis)
  • Professional cinematography plans (auto, presets, or manual)
  • Lighting, sound, and music design
  • Hero frame images for each shot
  • Final video generation with human-in-the-loop approval

How It Works

1. Define Your Concept

Start by selecting a goal type and describing your concept:

Goal TypeDefault StyleEnergyBest For
Brand AdCommercial70Product advertisements
Short FilmCinematic40Narrative storytelling
TikTok/ReelUltra Clean90Social media content
ExplainerCommercial50Educational videos
Product DemoUltra Clean60Product showcases
Music VideoCinematic80Audio-driven visuals

2. AI Pipeline Processes

The orchestrated worker system processes your concept:

Pre-ProductionCharacter Reference, Research, Reference DigestSubject consistency, web research, reference synthesis
Core PlanningStory Bible, Storyboard Plan, Consistency ValidatorStory structure, shot planning, validation
EnhancementCinematographer, Lighting, Sound, MusicCinema setup, lighting design, audio planning
OutputOutput StoryboardFinal storyboard compilation

3. Review and Refine

You receive hero frames and shot details to review:

  • Accept shots that look good
  • Regenerate shots that need improvement
  • Edit prompts for specific changes
  • Add video effects (camera movements, transitions)
  • Reorder or add scenes

4. Generate Videos

Convert approved shots into final video content using AI video models. Shots go through a two-phase process: hero frame image first, then video generation after approval.

Key Features

AI-Powered Planning

The system uses LLM-based planning to understand narrative, cinematography, and visual storytelling. It generates a Story Bible with style guidelines, negative prompts, and continuity anchors.

Subject Consistency

Upload reference images with 1:1 mapping (one subject per image). The system analyzes each reference to build a subject registry with locked descriptions, matching keywords, and hero frame URLs. Subject types include: character, product, object, creature, vehicle.

Cinematography Control

Three levels of camera/lighting control:

ModeDescription
AutoAI selects optimal camera and lighting
PresetsChoose from predefined camera/lens/lighting/motion combinations
ManualFull control over camera angle, motion, lens, framing, lighting, environment FX, motion intensity

Human-in-the-Loop

You're in control at every step:

  • Review each hero frame before video generation
  • Request regenerations with prompt edits
  • Approve individual shots or entire scenes
  • Add effects and transitions before final render

Cloud Persistence

Storyboards are saved to Supabase and can be loaded across sessions. Projects include all settings, scenes, shots, subject references, and generation history.

Movie Editor Export

Send completed shots directly to the Movie Editor timeline for final composition.
