Credits Overview
DUTO uses a credit system for AI-powered operations. Credits are consumed when you generate images, videos, audio, and other AI content.
What are Credits?
Credits are DUTO's internal currency for AI generation. Each AI operation has a credit cost determined by the model used, output resolution, duration, and other configuration options. Pricing is fully database-driven via the pricing_matrix table -- there are no hardcoded prices in the application.
Getting Credits
| Method | Credits |
|---|---|
| Free signup | 25 (one-time) |
| BetaList plan | 900/month |
| Basic plan | 1,500/month |
| Standard plan | 2,500/month |
| Pro plan | 5,000/month |
| Enterprise | Custom |
Credits are allocated at the start of each billing cycle.
What Costs Credits
AI generation nodes consume credits. The following node types require credits:
Image Generation
- Text to Image / Image Gen
- Image Upscale
- Image Background (removal/replacement)
- Image Edit
- Angles (multi-angle generation)
- Dynamic Inpaint
Video Generation
- Text to Video / Video Gen
- Image to Video
- Video Extend
- Video Upscale
- Video Eraser
- Video Watermark Remover
- Video Face Swap
- Video Translate
- Video Edit (Gen-4, Kling)
- Video Swap
- VeoEffects
- Timelapse
- Cinema Studio
- Motion Control
Audio Generation
- Text to Audio
- Kling Video to Audio
- Lip Sync
- MMAudio
- Video Foley
Free Operations (No Credits)
These do not consume credits:
- Uploading and organizing files
- Creating and designing workflows (without running)
- Browsing and downloading from the Content Library
- Using Text Prompt, Prompt Expander, and Text Preview nodes
- Using the Brain node (LLM reasoning)
- Using the Analyzer node
- Using flow control nodes (Start, Sync Gate, Conditional Switch, etc.)
- Account management and settings
How Credit Pricing Works
Credit costs are calculated dynamically based on:
- Model -- Different AI models have different base costs
- Resolution -- Higher resolutions cost more
- Duration -- Longer videos cost more
- Audio -- Models with audio output may cost more
- Configuration -- Some options (negative prompts, guidance scale) affect pricing
Prices are looked up from the pricing_matrix database table using the calculate_model_price RPC function. The admin panel generates pricing records from provider costs with a 25% margin, rounded to the nearest multiple of 5 credits.
Credit Check Flow
Before any AI generation node executes:
- The system identifies the model from the node configuration
- It calls the
credit-checkedge function with the model key, resolution, and duration - The edge function looks up the price and checks the user's balance
- If insufficient credits, the node shows an error: "Insufficient credits: need X, have Y"
- If sufficient, the operation proceeds and credits are deducted after completion
Credits are only deducted for successful operations. Failed generations do not consume credits.
Checking Your Balance
Your credit balance is visible in the editor status bar and account settings.
Budget Tips
- Use Budget Mode -- Models like SeedDream v4.5 (images) and Kling v2.6 (videos) cost significantly less
- Test at lower quality first -- Iterate on prompts before generating at full resolution
- Check costs before running -- Node cost badges show estimated credit costs
- Plan batch workflows -- Know the total cost before running a large batch
