Node Reference

DUTO's Flow Editor includes 50 specialized nodes for building content creation workflows. This reference covers all available nodes organized by category.

Archived Nodes

13 nodes have been archived (deprecated or superseded). They are not listed here. Active node types are those registered in the node registry and available through the Node Palette.

Handle Types

Nodes connect via typed handles. Understanding handle types helps you build valid workflows.

Type Colors

TypeColorDescription
imageBlueStatic images (PNG, JPG, WebP)
videoPurpleVideo files (MP4, WebM)
audioGreenAudio files (MP3, WAV)
textYellowText strings, prompts, captions
flowPrimaryFlow trigger (Start node output)
maskAmberMask data for inpainting operations
anyGrayUniversal connector, accepts all types

Additional internal handle types exist for specialized connections:

  • scene (orange) - Scene data between storyboard-related nodes
  • capture (amber) - Capture data
  • ctx (yellow) - Context data
  • brainContext (cyan) - Brain node context

Connection Rules

  • Same types connect: image to image handle
  • Any type accepts all: video to any handle
  • Different types don't connect: text to image handle
  • One output can connect to multiple inputs (branching)
  • The Quick Connect Menu automatically filters compatible nodes when you drag a connection to empty space

+-------------------------------------+

Components

  • Header - Icon and name with status indicator
  • Input handles - Left side circles, color-coded by type
  • Output handles - Right side circles, color-coded by type
  • Body - Inline configuration or preview (varies by node type)
  • Delete button - Appears on hover
  • Cost badge - Shows credit cost for billable nodes

Node Inspector Panel

Select a node to see its settings in the Inspector panel on the right:

  • Status - Current execution state (idle, running, success, error)
  • Run controls - Run from Node, Retry, Continue
  • Configuration - Node-specific settings (varies by node type)
  • Cost estimate - Credit cost for this node
  • Outputs - Results from last execution
  • Dependencies - Upstream and downstream nodes
  • API Payload - Raw API request data (for debugging)

Adding Nodes

Method 1: Bottom Node Menu

Click category icons at the bottom of the canvas to browse and add nodes.

Method 2: Quick Slots

Use the 5 customizable Quick Slot buttons on the left side for frequently used nodes.

Method 3: Quick Connect Menu

Drag from an output handle to empty canvas space. A filtered menu appears showing only compatible nodes.

Method 4: AI Generation

Type a natural language prompt in the Bottom Node Menu to have AI build an entire workflow automatically.

Tips

Use Preview Nodes

Add Preview Media nodes throughout your workflow to visualize intermediate results during execution.

Post-It Notes

Use Post-It Note nodes to annotate complex sections of your workflow with explanations.

Check Compatibility

Handle colors indicate their type. Only compatible types can connect. Gray "any" handles accept all types.
