Organizing Media
The Content Library automatically organizes your generated assets into a structured folder hierarchy. Here is how browsing, viewing, and managing your media works.
Automatic Folder Structure
Unlike a traditional file manager, the Content Library does not require you to manually create folders. Assets are automatically organized based on where they were generated:
Flow
├── /Workflow Name A
│ └── generated outputs...
├── /Workflow Name B
│ └── generated outputs...
Storyboard
├── /My Storyboard Title
│ └── generated shots...
└── /Another Storyboard
└── generated shots...
Each asset carries metadata about its context (flow or storyboard), item name (the workflow or storyboard it belongs to), and run information (runDate, runNumber). The folder tree is built from this metadata automatically.
For storyboard content, the human-readable storyboard title is displayed when available instead of the internal item name.
Tabs
The library is divided into two tabs:
- Flows -- All assets generated by Flow Editor workflows
- Storyboards -- All assets generated by Storyboard projects
Each tab shows an item count badge. Switch between them to focus on the type of content you are looking for.
View Modes
Folders View
The default view. Browse content through a collapsible folder tree on the left side. Click a folder to filter the media grid to items within that folder. Folders show file counts and can be expanded to reveal sub-levels.
Flat View
A chronological view of all content within the current tab, sorted newest first. Each item shows an output badge (e.g., "Output 003 - Jan 14") so you can identify which run produced it.
Toggle between views using the view mode buttons. Your preference is saved to localStorage and persists across sessions.
Display Modes
Within either view mode, content can be displayed in three layouts:
| Mode | Description |
|---|---|
| Grid | Large square thumbnails in a responsive grid (2--5 columns) |
| Small | Compact thumbnails in a denser grid (3--8 columns) |
| List | Single-row items showing thumbnail, type, run metadata, and date |
Folder Cards
In folders view, sub-folders are displayed as visual cards with:
- Preview thumbnails -- Up to 4 preview images from folder contents arranged in a mosaic
- Folder name -- Displayed with a gradient overlay for readability
- Item count -- Number of files in the folder
Click a folder card to drill into its contents. A breadcrumb trail lets you navigate back up the hierarchy.
Searching
Use the search bar to filter assets by filename. Search is case-insensitive and filters results in real time within the active tab and folder.
Selecting Items
Individual Selection
- Click an item to open the lightbox/detail view
- Cmd/Ctrl + Click to toggle selection on a single item (enters selection mode)
Selection Mode
Once in selection mode:
- Click any item to toggle its selection
- A checkbox appears on each item's thumbnail
- The selection persists as you browse (within the current session)
Bulk Actions
When items are selected, a floating action bar appears at the bottom of the screen with:
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Download | Download selected items (opens advanced download dialog for multiple) |
| Add to Flow | Insert selected assets into a workflow (when available) |
| Delete | Remove selected items from the library and storage |
| Clear | Deselect all items |
The bar shows a count and breakdown of selected types (e.g., "3 selected -- 2 images, 1 video").
Deleting Content
You can delete individual items or use bulk selection to delete multiple files at once. Deletion removes both the database record and the actual file from storage (Supabase Storage or BunnyCDN).
If a file has already been removed from storage, the library handles this gracefully and cleans up the database record.
Tips
- Use flat view for recent outputs -- When looking for something you just generated, flat view shows the newest items first
- Use folders view for project browsing -- When you want to see all outputs from a specific workflow or storyboard
- Cmd/Ctrl + Click for quick multi-select -- No need to enter a separate mode
- Check Storage Analytics -- Monitor your storage usage from the analytics panel to stay within your quota
- Delete large files first -- The Storage Analytics panel shows your largest files for quick cleanup
